‘And I…will swallow my pride, you’re the one that I love, and am saying goodbye’
There is something about this song that leaves me thinking most of the time.
Sometimes its about how I reacted when I felt unappreciated, sometimes its about how I sat down to think of how I treated someone and maybe it wasn’t right..either way I believe everyone has a story to tell.
For instance, when someone does something, another may feel its not good enough to their expectations and as a result the other feels unappreciated.
It is one thing to understand why you treated someone badly, maybe because you don’t like them, or you might not have had the intentions to hurt, or the most common, revenge, but its another thing to understand the actions of others.
To understand we are all human and we make mistakes is actually the first step to fostering better friendships, better communities and even better relationships.
People are free to walk away, but not everyone walks away, others will stay and try to persevere but they will never forget the genesis of the issue.
People are also free to make their own choices, decisions and to behave in a manner they find most suitable to them.As much as we are entitled to our own unique character it should not be inclusive of causing harm to anyone, whether or not we are aware, most people can’t understand unintended mistake. It always feels like you are purposefully trying to bring them down.
I feel its wise to conclude that the concept of understanding others comes from the concept of do to others what you would expect them to do to you, and I know despite the little nasty things we do to others deep down we wouldn’t like them to hate.
