Wednesday Music Review is Back!!
Today we review “Try me”, a slick, left field pop-up rap by a 23 year old Detroit MC Dej Loaf. The track was released early this year, July and glides on an airy production by Mich.
In combination with its propulsive kick drums, the soft washes of serene and the reverb heavy piano recall, a local history of futuristic Detroit . Dej’s lonely song propels errant thoughts as if she were singing to herself with no audience: her uncensored reality of everyday irritations (gave him my number he won’t stop calling me), casual tragedy (I’ve been out of my mind since they killed my cousin) the song seems to be stuffed with a lot of lifetime worth of stories. She seems to have been through a lot and through the process became better. Make sure to check this big tune out.
